About Us
Saint Raphael the Archangel is presently a home based church in Panama City, Florida founded by Father John Montanez when after ordination to the priesthood in the Roman Orthodox Church of America he postponed his plan to start a more traditional church due to the failing health of his aging parents.
During the last five years Father John has celebrated Mass, administered the sacraments, and cared for the spiritual and physical heath needs of his only two, (now one) parishioners at his home based church, named after the Archangel in the Deuterocanonical Bible book Tobit, who’s Hebrew name Raphael, [from rapha' to cure or heal + 'el a god, or divinity] translates into English as God cures, God heals, or God’s Medicine.
